I've never played online but i can tell u this game WILL hook u in and u will LOVE it. The game play is awesome. The graphics r great. and it is really challenging in vhard mode. Plus u can stab stuff with pointy knives. But u cant pause so that kind of annoys me. I died because of it. also i cant seem to get past the last boss on episode 2. i die ... alot. and tell me what to do with the photon drop. i have at least 10. I can't think of any other downflaws except that u cant pause. BUY THIS GAME.

hey i'm not even close to finishing it but the game so far is a challenge and will take you a while to beat but if you don't want a challenge then please don't buy it just because its not your kind of game don't give it a low score the game rocks!

haha PSO is so awesome, even though my char is lev..er.. 54 i rule the game. My bro has a char lev 84 (ranger) who is also really good. My char is a force who i think r the coolest of them. but yea.. so far i have only found a hadfull of "special weapons" like.. madu.. or something like that.. they r cards that u throw..and grass assasins arms..ect.. but yea i rate it a 9 only because it takes 4 ever :D

I just got the game and so far....i've played it everyday for at least 6 hours (kinda sad)!! I will never stop enjoying this game!! I especially love the waterfalls in the cave....there really beautiful. But my fave things has got to be shooting and electrifying beasts! :)

Online playing rules. you can talk to people, battle, quest, and even talk to people in japan if you can understand them. You can creat your charcter at the beginning of the game instead of choosing out of some poeple. My charcter is soooo hottttt!!!!!! Pso is the best game ever made, and anyone who dissagreas can go to !#%$.

I love this game, it is my favorite game that i probably, have ever gotten! Sure, i mean it is really repetitive, but yet, addictive, so much to do, so many items, infinate possiblilities, it is a one of a kind game, and what more should i say now, then MAKE A SECOND FOR GAMECUBE, or else....

I'ts a very good game, a little hard at first, but once you get used to it that controller is very hard to put down. Good graphics, perfect storyline, but I just didn't get how this fits in with the other phantasy star games. Good bosses, really good spells, I just don't understand why some of my freinds don't like it.

I don't play online, and I have the best time ever!I have so much fun experimenting with my ranger. I am always serching for grinders and rares. Normal RPGs get boring from the amount of battles you have. This game fixes that annoyance. Action! Awesome graphics and gameplay. One flaw though, there is no pausing. Only problem. The rest ROCKS!

Unfortinatlly i dont seem to have the same opinion. I like the game all and all yet it to easy in one player. I finished it in a week
Ok, graphic's great, game play great, unfortinatly the game dose slack a bit in the creation of new AIs look liek someone in the Sega software got lazy and well didnt make new AIs for the monsters in new levels as you advance i mean C'mon man seeing the same movements for the monsters can get boring real quick.

This game is one of the best console games I've had the privlege to play yet! It has everything an RPG/ Adventure needs. I personally think that the game could have had a better single-player option, but it was designed to be an online hit. I love the fact that there are many weapons for many classes. The fact that every person in the game has his/her own strengths and weakneses is amazing. The graphics are awsome, and the level detail is eye-boggling! The amount of detail put into the creation of this game is just amazing. The lighting effects are quite good too. The only other thing I would improve on is the sound and music. They should have more tracks, and perhaps some more sound effects. I havn't seen the Gamecube version, but I hope they include speech. That would be a big improvement. Perhaps a better mapping system, as you can't always tell where everything is. And my last thing I would include is: a compas. I hate when I'm wandering with a guide on my lap, reading: "go north, west, two rooms south after..." it just frustrates me, thats all. Other than that, it's the best!!!

This game rocks. I paid $40 just to buy the broadband adapter, but it was worth every penny. First month is free, then its $8.95 per month, which isn't a bit bad, compared to a bunch of other games/etc that charge, like, $19.99 a month. I'm level 25 at the time, and I do 105 damage [more or less sometimes], while level 1s do 325 damage, but thats because they have either strong mags, or high stats.
Nonetheless, only get this game if you're willing to become hopelessly addicted to it, and playing it non-stop, lol.

if you havent got this game you dont know what you are missing i have been playing since it came out, night and day and i cant stop playing their is such a variety of weapons for every character the multiplayer mode is also amazing you can even bring your mates round and all of you can tackle that hard boss or help each other raise lvls trade items give mags to one another you can buy magic spells to learn which gives you that extra boost in power even if youre not a force!! the only thing is it takes quite a while to lvl up when you get to about lvl 7 but its worth the wait as you can wear better armour use better weapons the higher lvl you are. and if that doesnt keep you busy the endless amounts of quests to do is unbelievable you will be playing for years!!!! this is an amazing game from sonic team and if they bring out another one i might of completed it by time im 40! forget any other game on the cube this outrules the lot.

What the heck, wheres the support for offline multiplayer games. You cannot progress in the game via offline multiplayer. So u get 3 guys to play or 4, kill a boss an end up not having it save to your game. So the only way u can progress is to take your character that u play with multiplayer an use it to progress, wich of course out levels your co offline players. Wich in turns makes the other 2 ppl toss this game in the garbage for poor understanding. PSO is made totally for online play only, don't buy it if u want to play offline with more then urself.

I just wanted to say that im not a big all-time gamer.in fact i think most games are just a wast of time.maybe its just cuz im a girl it doesnt appeal to me.but PSO is one of the only games i cant stop playing.i love it.i dont know what it is about it being able to play online with my friends or online by myself playing with people across the world i just met...This is a game like none other.i swear my gamecube is going to fry one if these days because i play so much.i love the game.hope more like it come out in the future

As soon as I played Phantasy star online for Gamecube i got hooked we played it for endless hours its hard but fun soon as i got back home i bought myself a copy myself it costed me lots but it was worth it im a pro at this game know thnx sega for creating such a wonderful game :)

PSO will always rule all, no matter what version. I love this game, and I admit :I am obsessed! You will get hooked straight from level 1! I don't care if I have sucky items for level 28, my characters rock! NEVER GIVE UP ON THIS GAME, IT'S WORTH PLAYING ALWAYS! This game reminds me of my favorite online PC game Anarch Online. But it is for kids with characters like those on Final Fantasy! This game always seems to amuse me :)

This is one of the best games invented!!!! Its by far worth more than fifty dollars personally cause i have the gamecube version and its astounds me!!!Two stories very long since you can do jobs and then you have the internet life this is the best game of all time! It saddens me to know that dreamcast did this a few months too late because the day this came out is the day they quit the console business im am deeply saddened but since they left they gave us all these great games and for that i am very happy!!! Go buy this game i guarintee you wont regret it!

Ooooohhh man, this game is by far the best game I've ever played, buy it! Buy a game shark or code breaker too, those pesky hacker dudes kill you and stuff online. After awhile, the game's online capabilities are the only thing keeping you on your Dreamcast/Gamecube, I only wish it comes to Xbox. Ver.2 isn't much different except some more weapons, mags, and online playing modes.
