This game is the best game ever, i have it on the xbox and it is the best. The fighting and the Qte is the greatest part of the game. I love the story line, i think this game has the best story line ever. The graphics arent that good but that dosnt matter. Ive beaten this game 2 times and i never get bored of it. i havent played shenmu 1 because i never had dreamcast and i never knew anything on shenmue2 untill i saw the trailer and that blew me away. The only game that would say is better than this game is halo other than that it is the best!!!!!!!! YOU HAVE TO PLAY THIS GAME !!!!!!!!

GOD DAMN! this game totally rocks. i dont know whats wrong with it but it has some part that it will suddenly stop cuz the cd is damged! i dunno if the cd is the damged or the xbox cuz i bought 2 games and the first one doesnt work cuz its a used game and i returned it and bought a new one and when i get to guillin.. it is damged again! can somebody help me

Shenmue is sooo cool! It is like a movie when u play it. It's sooo amazing, I can't explain it!!! Thats how good it is!Shenmue is like a real person and it brings mystery when u play it! This game has wonderful graphics! You can do anything in this game! I am soooooo glad that they made this game because their are no other games like this and they need to make games like this. You will never get tired of this game and you can never quit. Once u start u can not stop!

I LOVE shenmue so much it's sooo cool and i think it's the best game ever in the whole world. And imagine shemue 2 how cool that's going to be.i can't wait till i buy shemue 2 for xbox.i love to fight people and play QTE.i love it at the end where you have to fight the 70 mad angles.i hope in shenmue 2 there will be a group like the mad angles or something.

the girls are hot and the arcade is tight but about the people and some jobs that are hard like luky hit stand but the job were you carry crates is coolyou make lots of money on mostly all of the jobs42 and the jobs you have to do are some times hard or harder period but i like s2 really bad so im telling you to rent or buy this game now.

When he says,"Don't move" Do not press "A".I love the game it is the most fun fun fun game I have ever played in my lifetime. I played it for hours and beat the game in 4 Days! I recomend this game to every gamer that (likes games).If I could I would give this game a 20.The fun factor is off the roof. The story of the game is amazeing. The graphics are right with the fun factor. I have a XBox.I don't have Shemue 2 but I rent it and I hope I get It someday.I am 10.

S2 means shenmue 2 if u dont know shenmue2 is the best game that i played and i just love to see all the fans talking about it it's really brought me close to martial arts. Chaets well to get 1000$ you must go to your note book and press b,y,up.left,y,down,R,ang y do that twice and reset the game and you will have the money and drive a car modeyou basicly folow a business man until he gets to his car then press y. s2 is the best game so buy it

ok, I have rented Shenmue 2. It is a good game if u like hearing ppl talk about doing things forever. Shenmue 2 by far has way too much talking in it, the worst thing is you can't skip it. There are parts before you get to Guilin where it drove me crazy, that girls was talking about that stupid tree and the spring with the water. The fighting also seemed to be less but a good thing was the retry, when u lose a fight the AI goes down a level for you. A bad thing about the fighting was that darn QTE, when u fight the fat guy, the master in the cage, or the girl in Kowloon QTE is annoying, it comes so unexpected and in the fat guy's case u have to repeat the whole battle. The graphics are brillant it's obvious that the director wanted it to be like a movie. Also what's up with Ryo not liking women, is Joy not hot? He is always mean, and says "Leave me alone". Most of that gambling was rigged too especially in Kowloon. I haven't beaten the game yet, I hope the old character from Shenmue 1 will meet up with me like he said he would right before I got on the boat to Hong Kong.
Overall the game had basic content with great detailed graphics and good fight scenes.

this game is the best plane and simple.i love the fight scenes.the best think about shenmue is all the cities and countries you go to and looking at what life is like.the story line is awsome.i cant wait for the shenmue 3 to come out so i can finally kill lan di.keep it up.

I rented this game 2day and hav been playing it all day and hav only had like 4 fighting sequences. i got this game because i thought it would hav more fighting. the graphics are not that great. They made Ryo like identical 2 akira from the virtua fighter series. the fight sequences r good but there arent enough.

This game by far is the best in the series, and if you brlieve so to.. it might be one of the best in the whole world. lol. well depending on what type of gamer u are. n e wyas. i love this game beacuse i loved the first game. although i dont have a Xbox i still am playing Shenmue 2 on my DC, i got it from the phillipines for 3 dollars, and its soo good. the only thing i dont like about the game is the load times. jesus it takes LONG, sometimes to long.. but still worth it. The game seems to get harder into and there is this one prob. i have with the game which i need help from. there is a QTE where it says press "A" and everytimg i press it it doesnt seem to work. ive done it with 3 different remotes and still nothing, i think i gotta trigger it or something some other way. is n e 2 else experiencing the same thing? the QTE is called uhh.. "the WUDE" i think the one where his in the barber shop and all and the guy says " dont move no matter what".. if u kno how to complete this task (QTE) plz email me thanks.

Shenmue 2 is a game that you will play 24/7!Shenmue 2 is shorter but better.You can do more activities than before.The best way to earn money is to gamble and to get a part time job.Once you start this game you will never stop!But trust me when you beat this game you will be very disapointed.

Shenmue 2 is the best game ever. I'm a 13 year old girl. I have the game for the XBOX. I just beat the game today. The sound and music is so awesome. I think this is way better than the first one. At the end, Ryo and Shenhua Ling are in a cave called Stone Pit. If you wanna find out more about it, go buy it. If you like S1 than you'll definently love S2.

Its firstly its the sequel to the Dreamcast's own Shenmue, which is a fantastic game.One of the main critcisms lodged aganst the first game was it dreadfull voice acting which was laughable. Rather than using english voice actors its just sub titled instead which may discourage some people but it should not as below all this lies a very playable and 'different' game.
It does have its flaws like every game I can think of. One of these is when you convert your VMU save over, you lose alot of the items in your inventory from the first game like the cassette player which was good to listen to whilst you were say waiting for a bus or if you had got somewhere early and their was some time to kill. Also if you hadn't learnt some of the moves within move scrolls i.e the ones in chinese their gone! But it does try to build of some of the critcosms of the first game an example would be the barber shop where if you fail the QTE it gives you as an option to speed up time.
Without giving too much away this is one of the finest games on the Dreamcast and it shouldn't go over looked by anyway one.
If you did not like Shemue than you won't like this.

With games like GTA3 and Metal Gear Solid 2 being released on the mighty Playstation 2, I think that Shenmue II is being criminally overlooked. This game is possibly the best gaming experience that anyone can ever imagine. Starting off, the game itself will draw you in. There will be times in the game, if you appricate it enough, we're you will actaully feel emotionally involved. The game is that storywise. If you hadn't played the first game, you probably won't argee with me on that last comment, if that is the case, buy that one, play it, love it, then play and love this one. You WILL NOT be disappointed. This game has everything from Sound, Graphics, Gameplay and Story. The whole thing just oozes class.

Shenmue 2, in a nutshell, is a purely fantastic game with a huge variety of puzzles and challenges. I am only 12 years of age and have managed to complete this game, so it isn't too hard - but this game isn't for somebody with no common sense. For example, in Shenmue 1, where you are searching for your father's key, if you had any sense, you would look in his bedroom, not in the toilet. The graphics are nothing short of excellent, yet I do feel that they may have rushed it a bit; the non-player characters all seem to have flat faces except a point in the middle for the noise. As in the first game, the music and sound is amazing. There are those stunning orchestral tracks like the one played in the end credits, and if you stop and stand still you can hear the subtle yet wonderful music which is candy for the ears. The game seemed to last a long time for me, but I did play it on and off over a period of 3 months (I would wait a while if I got stuck). The only flaw I can name is the fights, there is no doubt a huge variety of moves but the three fights in the middle are immensly difficult and watching the same cutscene 5 times does become a little tiresome and irritating. The QTE's are a lot better, and the idea of the CQTE's was great! I assumed that disc 4 would be another 'passport' style disc, but again Yu Suzuki continues to surprise us! The fourth disc is a nice, easy way to relax and finish off the game, with no irritating difficult parts. Shenmue 2 is a fantastic game, just buy it!!!!

Just what Shenmue fans everywhere could have expected! This game worked out the few problems that were found in the first one (such as lame game speed, etc.) The 2nd Shenmue has a new 'Wait' command in certain cases so that you don't have to idle your game for 20 minutes to get to a certain game hour to continue your gameplay. The version of Shenmue 2 that I played was a English subtitled version which didn't even bother me because of the great gameplay. Just about every aspect of the game was improved, the OTEs are MUCH better then the first in my opinion, they take the game to a even higher level. Much more action was added to S2, fixing yet another user problem with the 1st shenmue. The sound is great, the movement and camera are superb. New moves can be learned, the combos are enhanced. Bosses are much better then the ones in the first shenmue. And Oh my gosh..the areas and graphics are great. The Hong Kong area alone is as big as all of the areas in Shenmue 1 combined. But Hong Kong isn't the only area in the game, there are many huge areas in the game. The only bad part of the game, i repeat the only bad part in my opinion is that it was not released in the US as an English voices game, shame on you! But you will be easily forgiven by any shenmue fan once they have tried shenmue 2.

What an amazing game. This is no dissapointment. Not only does it have detailed graphics, better then the first Shenmue but there are many more characters to meet and many more places to visit. The controls are basically the same as they were on Shenmue 1 so you dont really have to get use to them. It has new style (Q)uick (T)ime (E)vent's, as they use all the buttons and at some points in the game your screen will pause and it will show you a combination of button presses. You will have to be quick to press them as it could be vital. This game has alot more action and there is alot more information to collect to help you on your way. When seeing that the game was not English speaking i thought that it would be annoying but i got in to it and preffered it been that way, (Not that i could understand the language)Thank god for the English text. There are loads more battles and new moves to learn. I would suggest this game to anyone especially if you enjoyed Shenmue 1. There is something for everyone, from fights, going to the arcades, going to get a job or just explore and enjoy the sights. It is one of the best games out ever.

So you live in America and your p#ssed off Shenmue 2 was cancelled.You want to read a review before spending $60 importing the game.Well youve come to the right place.
Im crazy about Shenmue 1 so naturally i shelled out $60 to import Shenmue 2.The results where somewhat pleasing and disapointing.
Graphics
Shenmue 2 is nothing short of amazing.The graphics are awesome almost identical to Shenmue 1. The people look like people and when its raining it looks like its raining.If you have played Shenmue 1 you know what im talking about,the same.
Though there is a major frame rate drop in Shenmue 2.When Ryo is running around or is in a large area the screen can slow down drasticly anoying even the most hardcore gamer. This happens frequently during the game really taking away from the overall scenery.

Sound
What can i say? Shenmue 2 has some of the best sound effects ive heard in my 20 years of gaming.Alot of the music you hear in S2 is from S1 but alot of it is new and it sounds better than ever.One thing i like is that there is some traditional Japanese music in S2 that sooths the soul.

Gameplay
Shenmue 2 uses the same system as Shenmue 1 with a few big change. First instead of waiting numerous hours for an event there is an option you can pick that lets you go right to the event wich really speeds things up. You can also control Ryo with the analog stick now instead of the directional pads. The game in a whole runs pretty good until the 3rd disk and ill explain that later.

Fun Factor
When you first start Shenmue 2 you cant stop drooling.The cities in shenmue 2 are 50* larger than the once in S1. It takes about 3 days of playing to get familiar with where you are. This in itslef can be an adventure because several different events can happen to you while just walking around. You can get several jobs from gambling to crate lifting. There is almost never a dull moment.Did i say almost?When Disk 3 hits its like a bombshell.Your in a very low tech city called Kowloon. There is no arcade or slot machines.You spend most of your time during disc 3 walking around in huge buildings looking for people wich is about as fun as watching paint dry. It took me a month to get past disc 3 because i kept putting the controller down. Though eventually you get past it and beat the game wich isnt that great anyways.
Fun Factor: 6
Unless your a hardcore gamer or lover of the Shenmue series dont get this game.If you didnt like Shenmue 1 you WILL NOT like Shenmue 2...
